Crow's Shadow: Printmaking Retreat
Creating monotypes is an excellent way to be introduced into the world of printmaking. Crow’s Shadow resident printmaker Frank Janzen will lead participants in an exploration of monotype printing that reflects the unique terrain surrounding Crow’s Shadow institute in Pendleton, which will serve as an inspiration for imagery, observed or imagined. Using quick studies in drawings, watercolors and digital photos, participants will work in the state-of-the-arts studios of Crow’s Shadow and share ideas and collaborate within a small group of peers. Workshop hours are Thursday, 1-5pm, Friday and Saturday, 9-5pm, and Sunday, 9-4pm. Prerequisite: None.
Instructor: Frank Janzen
FRANK JANZEN is Crow’s Shadow’s resident Master Printer. He is an artist working primarily in printmaking and painting, and has collaborated with numerous artists in the U.S., Canada and South Africa in the creation of limited edition lithographs.
