Figure Studio: Painting
This weekly skill-building course is designed to support the students practice with a solid, foundational approach to painting the human form from life.
Aside from the first days lecture/demo, this class will be focused mostly on in-class practical exercises with plenty of helpful feedback to guide your way.
These six weeks well focus on the poster study – an incredibly helpful exercise in clarifying our understanding of the visual field as well as preparing for future paintings and larger compositions.
Expect discussions regarding light, hue, value and chroma, painting strategies, natural form, and palette management. There will be plenty of delightful opportunities for homework as well.
