This class is geared for the beginner but also for those who wish to “brush up” on basic painting techniques and processes. Primarily working with structured projects and observation — still life, portrait, figure and abstraction — we will learn how a painting is built. The fundamentals of color, composition, value, surface and edge will be some of the key elements to our understanding. Our study will be reinforced through lecture and group critiques.
