This course will cover the tools and materials of welded sculpture. Every student will have the opportunity to gas weld, arc weld and cut steel with fire. Students will create pieces and learn the tools of bending, cutting and shaping metal. This course will also cover various types of metal, where to find metal and safety issues. In addition to the class, students are encouraged to work in the studio during designated lab times.
Kent Richardson received his BFA in Intermedia from PNCA. He has worked as an exhibition preparator and is currently an Artist in Residence at PNCA. Kent has shown his work in at the TBA Festival; This Land is Our Land, at the Ace Hotel, New York; The White Noise, Work Sound Gallery among others.
