Writing + Illustrating Children's Books
This is an in-depth studio course on writing and illustrating your own childrens book where we will study the process of character and story development, page layout, pacing and narrative structure, and will take a close look at the publishing process and opportunities for promoting ones work. Visiting childrens book authors and illustrators contribute their voices to this creative and collaborative environment. Each participant will create their own book “dummy,” a rough draft of their story with text and sketches in place. Prerequisite: None.
Instructor Victoria Jamieson is a children’s book author and illustrator.
