Collagraphy is the art of making printing matrixes from found materials. Students will gain an understanding of how to operate a press, create plates, and prepare paper, in addition to learning intaglio, relief and viscosity printing methods. Prerequisite: none.
Instructor: Palmarin Merges
Palmarin Merges attended the San Francisco Art Institute and received her MFA degree in Printmaking in 1999. She has had numerous shows in Japan and throughout California, and at Blackfish Gallery in Portland.
She has taught at Pacific University & currently teaches at Pacific Northwest College of Art in the BFA and CE Programs as well as at the Multnomah Arts Center, all while being a full-time artist.
