STUDIO SESSION WEEK 1
Step into the studio to explore the foundation techniques and processes used to capture the timeless complexities of the human figure. Your classroom experience is centered around giving you tools and concepts to translate what you observe into art, specifically using
line and value to indicate gesture and create volume. Skill will be taught in sequence so that each new tool becomes a building block for the following sessions. Your drawings will be created from direct observations of professional nude models, reference images, and your memory. Instruction aims to increase your understanding of form, composition, negative and positive space and drawing materials. You will be given supplies. Primary media is graphite and charcoal.
