Pre-College Foundation Intensive
This is an experience that cannot be missed! Students will bring their imagined worlds to life. During the first week of the intensive, students learn how to discuss, define & design imaginary worlds using 2D skills. 2D or 2-dimensional refers to compositions that possess the dimensions of length and width but not depth. All 2-dimensional pieces of art, such as drawings, paintings, and prints, are made up of shapes, values, textures, colors, lines, space and mass. 3D work builds on concepts developed in 2D design, but uses the placement of an object within a suitable background to create the illusion of depth. The second week students use digital tools to transform their 2D concepts, drawn by hand, into digital 3D images. The final week all concepts are brought together and students acquire materials to build their worlds within 8 ft. by 8 ft. spaces located in a PNCA gallery. All work can be used as a stand out piece to a portfolio and mentors will be on hand to guide the documentation process.
Students will also have a guidance counselor to coach them through all aspects and steps of choosing the right art school, developing the most competitive packet for submission, and where to find scholarships.
