design.labs: Characters + Comics (12-14)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this class will move to an online format.
Learn the basics of visual storytelling and self-publishing comics! The focus of the class is on the process of making comics from start to finish from generating ideas, creating a rough drafts, and playing with new materials like non-photo blue pencil & traditional inking tools. Students will be creating short comics throughout the week that will be collected and shared in class anthologies at the end of the week.

Lisa Rosalie Eisenberg teaches regularly with Young Audiences of Oregon and SW Washington, The Right Brain Initiative, and Literary Arts. She is a regular contributor to comics publication The Nib. Her graphic novel, We Should Meet In Air: A Memoir Of Reading Sylvia Plath, will be published by Street Noise Books in 2021.
